I am doing my Personal Web page for ICarnegie

I have made several Web pages. I have learned several things and I have designed my process to do a Web Page. I use generally Free Software.

I use the next programs:

GPick: Editor pallets colors.
InkScape: Editor vectorial images.
GIMP: Editor bitmap images.
Geany: Editor CSS and HTML.

Gpick its a easy color picker. with it you can to do color patterns, color schemes, export to several formats how *.gpl, *.ase, *.mtl. between other behaviors.

Inkscape is very easy and intuitive, its have how file format the extension .svg (Scalable Vector Graphics) thar is a open standar development by W3C (World Wide Web Consortium) and its define is on XML file text. Its a better alternative opensource for vector images.

I do the model of the Web page. For this I use GIMP that is a Editor bitmap images. I use this program from 4 years ago and I have learned to do interesting things. For this web I have first designed the guides for indicate the limits of the sections then I do background images.

The color pattern is important for this point and CSS design too. I can to import the color pattern of GPick because I use it in the GIMP.

Other important point is that in the GIMP I have the sizes of the sections, this pixel for pixel and is very easy the CSS design.

And then after I save the images you need and begin to layout in HTML with Geany. That It is a lightweight IDE for HTML.

And these there are some steps that I have learned from that I start to learn Web Design. I hope  that it will be useful.
